Accessible parking and transport

Pensioner concession parking vouchers

We offer a book of parking vouchers to eligible pension card holders. These coupons last for one year and give you four hours of free parking in any of our multi-storey car parks on any one day per week. After the four free hours, normal rates apply.

To be eligible you must:

  • be the registered operator of a motor vehicle (i.e. it must be registered in your name)
  • receive an Australian Government pension, such as war widow, age, disability, single parent.

You must provide a valid pension card and valid vehicle registration both in the same name. Only one booklet is issued per pensioner.

You can apply for these vouchers by completing the pensioner concession parking booklet application form. A printable form is available on our forms page.

Temporary accessible parking permit

A parking permit is available for people who have a disability for a certain period of time (longer than six months). It is administrated at our Hobart Council Centre located at 16 Elizabeth Street, Hobart.

Transport Access Scheme

The Transport Access Scheme is administered by the Tasmanian Government and assists people with a life-long permanent and severe disability which affects mobility by providing:

  • Australian accessible parking permits
  • taxi subsidies
  • concessions on vehicle registration and driving licences.
